Roses a Peu (Roses on Foot): Puig de l’Àliga and the Penida Valley

Enjoy a 360º view of the Cap de Creus Natural Park and discover the northern slope of Puig de l’Àliga

We will set off from the bus station, guided, as always, by an official guide from the Cap de Creus Natural Park. We will pass in front of the majestic centuries-old olive tree, walking along the eastern slope of the mountain as far as Pla d’en Causa.

From there, we will climb up to Puig de la Sardina and Puig de l’Àliga, where we will enjoy a 360º view of the Cap de Creus Natural Park, the Bay of Roses and the Empordà plain. We will retrace our steps to Mas d’en Causa and descend along the northern slope of the Penida Valley to the pond of d’en Ponac. This is a steep descent with significant elevation loss, so we will need to proceed with caution. We will then take the old road to Roses and return to the bus station via Mas Pairet and Mas d’en Massot.

Notes: Bring proper hiking shoes, food and water. Bring a windbreaker in case of rain or cold weather. Walking poles are recommended but not mandatory. A liability waiver must be signed.
