Next Thursday, April 23, Roses will celebrate the Diada de Sant Jordi with different activities throughout the day. Roses and book stalls, sardanas with the participation of the schools of the municipality, a parade and a children's show.
The City Council's Culture Department is organizing the traditional Sant Jordi fair for another year, which has been held on the Rambla de la Riera Ginjolers for a few years now. It will be open from 10 am until 8 pm, and will feature rose and book stalls from florists and bookstores in the municipality, as well as from the organizations and schools of Roses that have wanted to be present on this special day.
Throughout the day, book signing sessions by local authors will also take place at the Jaume Vicens Vives Municipal Library, offering the public the opportunity to get to know the literary production of the territory up close.
At 11 a.m., the Plaça del Teatre will be the setting for a sardana dance with the La Flama de Farners cobla, as part of the 3rd Trobada sardanaista d’alumni d’4th d’primaria d’escolher de Roses. This activity highlights Catalan popular culture and encourages the participation of new generations.
In the afternoon, the activities will continue at 6 p.m. on the Riera Ginjolers promenade with the activity ‘Sand, music and legends’ by Aüc Espectacles, which will offer a musical parade and a show of the legend of Sant Jordi. This proposal combines music, gestural theatre, dance and a poetic staging, to bring the legend closer to all audiences in an innovative way. (In case of bad weather, the show will be held in the hall of the Municipal Theatre).
